Job summary

Tiger Brands is seeking a Slicer Operator to support production lines and ensure smooth operation of packaging and slicing processes. You will communicate issues to the Operator and Supervisor, verify dates, seals, and bag integrity, and monitor metal detectors and conveyors to prevent damage and ensure product quality.

A trained operator with safety awareness is required. Responsibilities include maintaining clean work areas, following FIFO, and reporting deviations promptly to enable quick

Qualifications

• Must follow FIFO in packaging and stores
• Operate and monitor metal detectors and safety guards
• Communicate issues with incoming Operator and Supervisor
• Maintain clean and safe working area in line with food safety policies

Responsibilities

• Communicate any problems with incoming Operator and Supervisor
• Check metal detector reject box and ensure it is locked
• Check printer dates and verify correctness
• Ensure bags are sealed, locked, and properly tensed
• Monitor conveyors from Cooler to Slicing to prevent damage or squashing
• Monitor packaging quality and substandard product removal
• Keep machine and surroundings neat and tidy
• Report deviations and speed up repairs as needed
• Adhere to Safe Work Procedures and Good Work Practices
