Tiger Brands is seeking a Slicer Operator to support production lines and ensure smooth operation of packaging and slicing processes. You will communicate issues to the Operator and Supervisor, verify dates, seals, and bag integrity, and monitor metal detectors and conveyors to prevent damage and ensure product quality.

Ensure that the machine and surrounding area is kept neat and clean and practice good housekeeping. (No boxes and crumbs on the floor.)
Packaging usage should follow the FIFO system, from stores and from trolley.
At the end of a shift, all stock bags should be returned to Packaging trolley.
Monitor conveyors from Cooler out to Slicing to prevent squashed bread.
Monitor product quality and remove substandard product.
Monitor machine operation. Ensure that no damages are created
Monitor packaging quality throughout shift.
Check the slice evenness of the bread throughout shift, request if adjustments are required.
Only trained Operators shall be allowed to operate the metal detectors.
Ensure CLEAR date coding is printed on bag.
Ensure that packaging is ready and available to avoid delays during change overs.
Ensure that the machine is safe and all safety guards are in place and in good working order.
Report to your Fitter and Supervisor, if there are any deviations to be repaired immediately.
Report all temporary fixings to your Supervisor to speed up repair.
Metal Detectors to be checked hourly.
Ensure Safe Work procedures and Good Work Practices are adhered to at all times.
Adhere to the Food safety policy.
Perform any reasonable work -related duty as requested by the Supervisor.
Active participation in internal forums e.g. INVOCOMS, Training interventions, Employee engagement sessions.
