Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent HGV Driver to join its transport team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods, adhering to driving regulations and company policies.

Requirements include a valid HGV (Code 14) license and PDP, a clean driving record, and a minimum of 2 years’ experience driving HGVs. Knowledge of South African roads and loading/unloading duties are preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV (Code 14) license and PDP.
• Minimum 2 years of HGV driving experience.
• Knowledge of South African road networks and safe driving practices.
• Ability to perform loading and unloading tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV vehicles safely and efficiently on designated routes.
• Perform routine vehicle checks (brakes, tires, lights) before/after trips.
• Securely load and unload cargo, ensuring protection during transit.
• Maintain accurate driving logs, delivery records and maintenance reports.
• Adhere to traffic laws, safety policies and working time directives.
• Communicate with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status.
