The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating Train Drivers, Shunters and Artisans while ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance and effective client service.
Supervise, manage and provide leadership to the on-site team of Train Drivers, Shunters and Artisans.
Provide guidance to the team in line with management decisions and company policies.
Prepare shift rosters and ensure sufficient employees are available for duty.
Ensure compliance with the client's production schedule and operational requirements.
Plan and oversee maintenance activities and breakdown work.
Complete required monthly site documentation.
Conduct site-specific and job-specific risk assessments and method statements.
Complete monthly Planned Task Observations (PTOs) on Drivers, Shunters and Artisans.
Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety requirements.
Provide progress and status reports to management and the client.
Maintain a positive and professional relationship with the client.
Represent the organisation professionally on site.
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Qualified Train Driver.
3–5 years' experience as a Train Driver.
Minimum 3–5 years' experience in the locomotive industry.
2–3 years' supervisory experience.
Computer literate.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
Strong leadership and organisational skills.
Good understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
