Site Shift Supervisor
Reports To: Site Manager / Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Site Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing site operations during a designated shift, ensuring staff productivity, safety compliance, and operational efficiency. The role includes supervising employees, monitoring workflow, resolving operational issues, and ensuring that daily targets are achieved.
Shift Operations Management
- Supervise and coordinate all activities during assigned shifts.
- Ensure operational processes run efficiently and according to company standards.
- Monitor workflow and address any delays or operational challenges.
- Ensure production or service targets are achieved during the shift.
- Conduct shift handovers and communicate important updates.
Staff Supervision
- Supervise site employees and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Allocate duties and manage workload distribution.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and staff performance.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-job support to employees.
- Address disciplinary matters where required.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Conduct safety checks and ensure PPE is worn at all times.
- Identify hazards and report safety concerns.
- Investigate incidents or accidents occurring during the shift.
Quality & Productivity Control
- Monitor quality standards and ensure work meets required specifications.
- Ensure efficient use of equipment, materials, and resources.
- Identify and resolve operational inefficiencies.
- Maintain productivity.
Administration & Reporting
- Complete shift reports and incident logs.
- Record production, attendance, and performance data.
- Report operational issues to management.
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.
- Relevant supervisory or operational qualification advantageous.
- Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
- Experience in site operations, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Computer literacy (MS Office).
- Valid driver’s license advantageous.
