# Site ScoutJohannesburgWorkshop & OperationsFull-timeVALTERNATIVE is looking for a practical, observant and computer-literate Field Site Scout to support the growth of our EV infrastructure network.## Job OverviewThis is a hybrid field-and-desk role. You will visit locations identified by our Infrastructure team, verify conditions on the ground, capture photographs and measurements, identify practical building or access constraints, and turn your findings into a clear first-draft site proposal for review. We are particularly interested in people with experience in facilities management, property management, building management, maintenance coordination or physical property operations. You do not need to be an EV or electrical expert - we can teach you our infrastructure requirements. What matters is that you understand how buildings work, can recognize practical site constraints and can document what you see accurately.## Key Responsibilities* Visit commercial properties and other potential EV infrastructure locations based on briefs supplied by our Infrastructure team.* Compare desktop assessments and Google Earth information with actual on-site conditions.* Capture clear photographs, videos, measurements, access information and relevant site observations.* Identify visible service areas and practical infrastructure constraints using your facilities or property experience.* Highlight alternative positions where the proposed location is not practical.* Prepare structured, professional first-draft site proposals using our templates.* Maintain accurate electronic records and submit completed site information on time.* This is initially a verification and reporting role rather than a decision-making or sales position. You will work from guidance provided by our Infrastructure team. You will not be expected to approve sites, perform electrical design, negotiate commercial agreements or commit the company to a location.* As you learn our site requirements and demonstrate strong practical judgment, the role can develop toward more independent site identification and broader infrastructure development responsibilities.* Ideal for someone who enjoys being on the ground, understands buildings and property operations, and can turn practical observations into clear, professional documentation.## Minimum Requirements* Experience in facilities management, property management, building operations, maintenance, site supervision or a related field.* A practical understanding of how commercial properties operate.* Strong attention to detail and spatial awareness.* Good written communication and photographic reporting skills.* Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and email.* Confidence using Google Maps and Google Earth. GIS. Other mapping skills.* Ability to compile photographs, maps, measurements and observations into a professional proposal.* A valid driver's license, reliable transport and willingness to travel between sites.* Ability to work independently in the field while following a clear brief.## Apply for this roleApplications go straight to our people team at careers@valt.africa.By applying you consent to Valternative Energy processing your personal information for recruitment purposes.
