Job summary

Pro Select Consulting is seeking a Site Construction Manager to oversee on-site construction activities, coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure work is delivered safely, on time and within budget.

The role requires a Civil/Construction background with 5+ years of site management experience, knowledge of drawings and specs, and a valid driver''s licence. SACPCMP registration is advantageous.

Qualifications

• National Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in construction/civil engineering.
• Proven experience managing construction sites.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and site operations.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Valid driver''s licence.
• SACPCMP registration would be advantageous, depending on project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day construction activities on site.
• Coordinate employees, subcontractors, suppliers and plant.
• Ensure work is executed according to drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
• Monitor progress against the project programme and report delays.
• Allocate labour, materials, plant and other resources effectively.
• Assist with planning and programming of construction activities.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and consultants.
• Ensure site documentation and progress records are maintained.
• Work closely with Health & Safety personnel to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Monitor workmanship, materials and quality standards.
• Address defects and non-conformances.
• Supervise site employees and contractors and monitor productivity.
• Monitor material and plant usage and minimise wastage.
• Escalate operational, safety, quality and employee-relations issues appropriately.
