Job summary

Professional Resources Partners Pty Ltd in South Africa seeks a Contracts Manager to lead site-based contract administration within civil engineering projects. You will oversee day-to-day site activities, coordinate resources, monitor costs and progress, and ensure compliance with contract, quality, and HSE requirements.

The role offers progression from site experience into contracts management, with emphasis on MS Project use, reporting, document control and liaison with clients and contractors

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Civil Engineering or related qualification.
• Approximately 3–5 years’ experience as a Site Agent, with readiness to progress into contracts management; alternatively, 2-5 years’ experience as a Junior or Assistant Contracts Manager.
• Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
• Working knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation on site.
• Good understanding of site operations, project costs, contract documentation and quality requirements.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate site activities, resources, materials, equipment and labour.
• Interpret project scopes, contractual obligations and site-specific requirements.
• Prepare and maintain site programmes using MS Project.
• Monitor project progress, resource utilisation, costs and site performance.
• Provide weekly progress and cost reports to the Contracts Manager.
• Record additional work, variations and non-budgeted costs with proper documentation.
• Liaise with clients, attend site meetings and maintain professional relationships.
• Maintain project files, contractual documentation and reporting systems.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, site inductions and medical requirements.
• Monitor adherence to quality plans, contract specifications and company standards.
• Ensure site teams comply with company policies and procedures.
