Job summary

Resources Partners Pty Ltd in South Africa is seeking a motivated Contracts Manager to join our civil engineering team. The role is initially site-based, overseeing day-to-day activities, coordinating resources, monitoring costs and progress, and ensuring compliance with contractual, quality and safety requirements.

Requirements include a National Diploma in Civil Engineering or related qualification, 3–5 years’ site agent experience (or 2–5 years in a junior/contracts role), proficiency in MS

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Civil Engineering or related qualification.
• 3–5 years’ experience as a Site Agent, with readiness to progress into contracts management; alternatively, 2–5 years’ experience as a Junior or Assistant Contracts Manager.
• Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
• Working knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and its application on site.
• Good understanding of site operations, project costs, contract documentation and quality requirements.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate site activities, resources, materials, equipment and labour.
• Interpret project scopes, contractual obligations and site-specific requirements.
• Prepare and maintain site programmes using MS Project.
• Monitor project progress, resource utilisation, costs and site performance.
• Provide weekly progress and cost reports to the Contracts Manager.
• Record additional work, variations and non-budgeted costs, ensuring proper documentation.
• Assist with cash flow inputs and payment certificates for review and approval.
• Liaise with clients, attend site meetings and maintain professional working relationships.
• Maintain project files, contractual documentation and reporting systems.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, site inductions and medical requirements.
• Monitor adherence to quality plans, contract specifications and company standards.
• Ensure site teams comply with company policies and procedures.
