Job summary

Implats is seeking a Mine Section Supervisor to oversee a portion of the mine workings in accordance with MHSA Regulation 2.15. The role focuses on achieving safety and production targets, executing daily and monthly planning, and coordinating with line management to understand operational needs.

The successful candidate will align Standards and Procedures with Training Material, ensure HSE compliance, manage discipline, and lead a crew through coaching and development.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience as a Miner
• Knowledge of stoping, development and trackless machinery
• Familiar with safety policies, procedures and MHSA regulations
• Understanding of risk management and operational business objectives
• Valid medical certificate or fitness to obtain it

Job description

To supervise a section of the workings of the mine in accordance with theMine Health and Safety Act Regulation 2.15

• Achieving daily and monthly targets w.r.t. safety and production.
• Monthly and daily planning.
• Consulting with line management and analyse operational needs.
• Alignment of Standards and Procedures to Training Material.
• Ensuring that HSE standards and legal requirements are adhered to.
• Managing discipline in the section.
• Co-ordinating, monitoring, coaching, and developing his/her team/crew
• Grade 12 plus a valid blasting certificate is essential
• A valid Production Supervisor Certificate of Competence is essential
• 1-3 years’ experience as a Miner is essential
• Technical working knowledge with regard to stoping, development, trackless machinery equipping, planning and safety policies, procedures and regulations.
• Knowledge with regard to mine standard’s best practices, risk management and operational business objectives.
• A valid Code EB driver’s licence.
• A valid Medical Certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate is essential
