Job summary

Five Guys Athens, GA is seeking a Shift Leader to lead by example on fast-paced shifts, work hands-on with the team, and ensure every guest leaves satisfied. You’ll rotate through roles—from cashier to grill and dining room—coach crew members, train new teammates, manage breaks and cash handling, and uphold brand standards, safety, and a great guest experience.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in restaurant/retail/hospitality with leadership, strong communication, calm decision-making, and basic

• 1–2 years of restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience (leadership preferred)
• A team-first mindset with strong communication skills
• Someone who leads by doing—not just directing
• Ability to stay cool and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math and comfort using POS systems

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and step in to run operations when management isn’t on site
• Jump into every position—cashier, grill, prep, fries, dining room—no task is too small
• Deliver fast, accurate service and create a great guest experience every time
• Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best
• Help train new team members and build a strong, positive culture
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and up to brand standards
• Manage shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports
