Job summary

MyCareerCraft is seeking an organised safety professional to drive occupational health and safety, legal compliance and ESG across its branches and distribution centres in South Africa.

You will implement the OHS management system, conduct risk assessments, investigations and audits, and ensure statutory training and reporting for ESG programs. 2–3 years of relevant experience and a qualification are required, with willingness to travel between branches.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 and a National Diploma or Degree in Safety Management or related field.
• SAMTRAC or equivalent OHS qualification.
• 2–3 years OHS experience in warehousing, distribution, logistics or multi-site environment.
• Sound knowledge of the OHS Act 85 of 1993, COIDA and environmental legislation.
• Experience in HIRA, incident investigations and compliance audits.
• Strong report-writing, data-management and MS Office skills (Excel).
• Strong communication and facilitation skills.
• Valid driver\'s license and willingness to travel to branches.
• Advantageous: ISO 45001/14001, SAIOSH registration, exposure to ESMS, waste management, carbon footprint or ESG reporting.

Responsibilities

• Implement and improve the OHS management system across all sites
• Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections and audits of warehouses, forklift operations, racking and fire equipment
• Investigate incidents, manage injury-on-duty reporting and COIDA claims
• Maintain legal appointments, emergency preparedness and statutory training
• Keep the legal compliance register and track statutory certificates and permits
• Support the Environmental and Social Management System, and collect data for carbon footprint and ESG reports
• Monitor environmental and waste legislation, including EPR obligations
• Compile monthly OHS, compliance and ESG reports for management
