Job summary

Sabenza IT Recruitment seeks a Server Engineer to design, implement and maintain robust server infrastructure. The role focuses on Wintel systems, Windows Server platforms, AD and Exchange, with a hands-on approach in service configuration and problem solving.

Ideal candidates will have MCSE/MCP, ITIL and CompTIA Server+ certifications, with experience in VMware, SCCM/Intune and IT operations. The position starts onsite in Centurion and moves to a hybrid model after three months.

Qualifications

• Maintain and excel in an IT environment that manages 2000+ endpoints (Server, Desktop, Laptop).
• Solid understanding of Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 and 2019.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and virtualization technologies.
• Hands-on with server configuration and corrective changes in the service.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain server infrastructure for reliability and performance.
• Troubleshoot and optimize Wintel environments and core services.
• Coordinate change management and operational support across IT teams.
• Support both physical and virtual server infrastructure and related systems.

Position type: Permanent (Onsite for first 3 months in Centurion, then hybrid model will apply)

Minimum Qualifications:

• CompTIA Server+
• ITIL Foundation
• Diploma/Degree in information technology or A+, N+
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
• MCP, Windows servers 2008/2012/2016

Knowledge and Experience:

• Maintain and excel in an IT environment that manages 2000+ end points (Server, Desktop, Laptop)
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 and 2019
• Sound knowledge of operating system platforms as well as areas like VMware, Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange
• Strong technical abilities allow this role to be hands-on in correcting the configuration of the service
• Working experience within IT Operations, infrastructure services support
• Understanding of several diverse areas ranging from physical server maintenance to virtual server infrastructure
• Knowledge of Windows 2008 / 2012 / 2016 operating system
• SCOM and Microfocus Ops Bridge integration
• SCCM and Intune integration
• Working knowledge of a call logging system
• Experience in hardware skills (server and network)
• Change Management
