Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Water Resources Civil Engineer to lead design and management of complex water projects in Sandton, Gauteng. The role drives sustainable water solutions, ensuring resilience and environmental protection for the Gauteng region.

The position oversees feasibility studies, regulatory compliance, and mentorship of junior engineers, delivering high-quality outcomes for flagship projects.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with specialization in Water Resources.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in water resources engineering and project management.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Expertise in water modeling software (EPANET, SWMM, Mike suite) and GIS applications.
• In-depth knowledge of water quality, treatment processes, and regulatory frameworks.
• Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and implementation of large-scale water resources projects, including dams, pipelines, and treatment facilities.
• Conduct advanced hydrological and hydraulic analyses to assess water availability, demand, and flood risk.
• Develop integrated water management plans and strategies for sustainable water use and conservation.
• Oversee feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory compliance for water projects.
• Manage project teams, budgets, and schedules, ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.
• Provide expert technical advice and mentorship to junior engineers and project staff.
