Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a specialized Hydraulics Civil Engineer to join our team in Vereeniging, Gauteng, focusing on water resource management and hydraulic systems. You will design, analyze, and implement pipelines, stormwater facilities, and river engineering solutions that support major infrastructure projects in the region.

The role blends analytical work with potential site involvement and offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with hydraulics/water resources focus.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in hydraulic design and analysis.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with hydraulic modeling software (HEC-RAS, EPANET, SWMM).
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics and hydrology.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze hydraulic systems such as water supply networks and flood control structures.
• Develop hydraulic models to simulate flow and predict performance.
• Prepare specifications, drawings, and reports for hydraulic projects.
• Conduct site assessments and provide technical support during construction and commissioning.
• Evaluate environmental impact and suggest mitigation measures.
• Collaborate with environmental scientists and hydrologists on integrated water projects.

Education

Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Hydraulics or Water Resources Engineering
