Job summary

Placements24 is looking for a Senior VFX Artist to join our Rustenburg studio and craft high-fidelity real-time effects for our next-generation interactive experiences. You will drive visual storytelling through explosions, magic, and environmental phenomena, collaborating with engineers and designers to push visuals forward.

We expect 5+ years in game VFX with a strong portfolio and proficiency in Unreal Engine or Unity.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional experience as a VFX Artist in the game development industry.
Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in creating a wide range of real-time visual effects.
Proficiency in game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity, and related VFX tools.
Experience with 3D modeling, texturing, and animation software is a plus.
Excellent artistic sense, strong understanding of physics, and a passion for visual storytelling.

Responsibilities

Create, implement, and optimize visual effects (VFX) for games and interactive media using industry-standard tools.
Design and develop particle systems, shaders, and post-processing effects to achieve desired visual aesthetics.
Collaborate with game designers and engineers to integrate VFX seamlessly into the game engine.
Ensure VFX performance is optimized across target platforms while maintaining visual quality.
Stay current with emerging VFX technologies and techniques, and share knowledge with the team.
