Job summary

Placements24 in Upington, Northern Cape, is seeking a Lead UX Researcher to drive user insights across digital products from a remote-enabled role. You will design and execute research studies, mentor junior researchers, and collaborate with product managers and designers to put users at the center of development.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or PhD in a related field, 5+ years of UX research experience, and fluency with qualitative and quantitative methods.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in HCI, psychology, sociology, anthropology, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional UX research experience with proven impact.
• Proficient in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Strong data analysis and synthesis skills.
• Experience with user research tools (UserTesting.com, Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey).
• Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.
• Ability to work independently on multiple remote projects.
• Experience collaborating with product and design teams.
• Familiarity with the South African digital market is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct UX research plans using various methods.
• Recruit and manage participants for studies.
• Analyze data to identify user pain points and needs.
• Synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights and reports.
• Present findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate insights into designs.
• Advocate for the user throughout the development lifecycle.
