Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Urban Planning or equivalent.
• A professional qualification in Architecture (PrArch or similar).
• 8+ years of combined experience in urban planning and architectural design, preferably in a consultancy setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive urban master plans and strategic development frameworks.
• Lead the architectural design process for urban regeneration and new development projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site analyses, and needs assessments for urban projects.
• Liaise with government authorities, stakeholders, and community groups to gain approvals and consensus.
• Prepare planning applications, design statements, and presentation materials.
• Integrate sustainable urban design principles, considering environmental, social, and economic factors.
• Coordinate with engineers, landscape architects, and other consultants to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Mentor junior planners and architects, fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture.
• Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring successful project delivery.

• Proficiency in relevant planning and design software (e.g., ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp).
• Strong understanding of South African planning legislation and development processes.
• Excellent analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to lead project teams and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
