Job summary

Shell South Africa is seeking a Petroleum Engineering Project Manager based in George, SA. You will lead complex upstream projects from concept to commissioning, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring delivery on time and within budget.

The role requires 8+ years in petroleum engineering project management, a Bachelor’s in Petroleum Engineering or related field, and strong knowledge of drilling, reservoir, facilities, and production operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in petroleum engineering project management.
• Experience in upstream oil and gas projects, preferably in SA or similar markets.
• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and control petroleum engineering projects, aligning with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
• Lead cross-functional teams including drilling, reservoir, facilities, and procurement to achieve milestones.
• Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and risk registers with updates to senior management.
• Ensure health, safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with external contractors, joint-venture partners, and government agencies for permits and approvals.
• Implement best-practice engineering solutions to optimize hydrocarbon recovery and operations.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for stakeholders.
