Placements24 is seeking a Senior Underwriting Specialist for our client in Midrand, Gauteng. The role focuses on assessing and managing insurance risks across a diverse client portfolio to protect profitability and product sustainability.

You will analyze risk, underwrite applications, and collaborate with brokers and internal teams to drive business growth while ensuring regulatory compliance and best practices.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in insurance underwriting.
• ACII or equivalent certifications are advantageous.

Aufgaben

• Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal insurance applications, assessing risk factors and determining coverage and pricing.
• Analyze financial statements, loss history, and data to support underwriting decisions.
• Build relationships with brokers, agents and stakeholders to drive business growth and provide expert advice.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with claims and actuarial teams to contribute to risk management and product development.
• Mentor junior underwriters to develop skills and performance.
• Stay updated on market trends, emerging risks and legislative changes.
