Job summary

Dis‑Chem Life seeks a Senior Underwriting Administrator to provide end-to-end administrative support to the underwriting team in Gauteng. You will prepare and maintain underwriting data, schedule medical assessments, liaise with clients and agents, and present underwriting decisions as quotes to clients.

The role requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in an administrative or Underwriting Support role.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in client engagement or financial services (advantageous)

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative duties to support underwriting workflows.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date underwriting data and records.
• Monitor application progress and escalate issues as required.
• Contact clients and schedule medical appointments with 3rd party providers.
• Communicate with clients and agents to gather all necessary information.
• Ensure smooth client experience through clear, professional communication.
• Create and Present underwriting decisions and quotes to clients in a RE5-compliant manner.
• Explain decisions clearly, addressing client questions while maintaining professional.
• Act as the bridge between the underwriting team and the client, ensuring decisions are understood and actionable.
• Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and client experience.
