Job summary

Boardroom Appointments in Sandton seeks an experienced software engineer with a strong background in front-end and back-end development. The role requires deep expertise in Angular, NodeJS, and SQL MSSQL, with experience in NX monorepos, microservices, and Kubernetes/OpenShift.

You will design, build, and deliver robust applications while guiding junior developers. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of programming experience and holds a related engineering or informatics degree.

Qualifications

• A degree in commerce, engineering or informatics or related field.
• At least 10 years of programming experience.
• Familiar with one or more languages relevant to the department.
• System design experience is advantageous.
• Strong UI development skills with 5+ years experience.
• Experience with Angular (2+) and Angular Material.
• Proficiency in NodeJS and NX monorepo concepts.
• Knowledge of microservices and micro frontend concepts.
• Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Docker.
• Strong backend and frontend development foundations.
• Strong MSSQL SQL skills.
• Experience with workflow tools like TIBCO AMX or Camundo is advantageous.
• Experience with Drools or other rules engines is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Increase operational efficiency and suggest cost-saving solutions.
• Deliver exceptional service by resolving queries quickly and effectively.
• Build stakeholder relationships and gather business requirements.
• Produce program specifications and implement system enhancements.
• Code, compile, test and deploy applications following the SDLC.
• Support development environments and uphold coding standards.
• Ensure governance and compliance with IT policies during programming.
• Identify and mitigate risks in the IT programming environment.
• Create technical specifications and architecture aligned with standards.
• Design, code, test and debug to deliver robust solutions.
• Minimize downtime by proactive issue identification and code reviews.
• Monitor systems post-change and perform performance analysis.
• Maintain maximum system availability and root-cause analysis for issues.
• Develop own skills and engage with business units to identify opportunities.
• Propose innovative IT solutions in a timely manner.
• Supervise other developers and provide technical assistance.
