Placements24 is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer for our client in Bloemfontein, Free State. The role centers on planning, designing, and delivering road and transportation infrastructure projects, leading design teams and mentoring junior engineers.

You will conduct traffic studies, develop transportation plans, and ensure designs meet South African road design standards. Strong leadership and client coordination are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Transportation specialization.
• Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA is essential.
• Experience in road design, traffic studies and traffic management.

Responsibilities

• Lead geometric design of rural and urban roads, highways, and intersections.
• Conduct traffic studies, capacity analyses and traffic impact assessments.
• Develop transportation plans and strategies.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Ensure designs comply with SA road design standards and guidelines.
• Oversee junior engineers and provide mentorship.
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Perform site investigations during design and construction.
• Assist in proposals and tenders for new projects.
• Stay current with transportation engineering software and technologies.
