Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to join a Pretoria-based engineering consulting firm in a remote-friendly role. You will lead on transportation solutions, including traffic studies, road design, and public transport planning for Gauteng and beyond.

The role requires a Master’s in Civil Engineering (Transportation) and 6+ years of experience, with Pr Eng registration preferred. You will mentor junior staff, liaise with clients, and manage projects with a focus on safety

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a Transportation specialization.
• At least 6 years of professional experience in transportation planning and design.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in transportation modeling and traffic analysis software.
• Experience in project management and client engagement.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive traffic impact assessments and transportation planning studies.
• Design road networks, intersections, and public transport facilities, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Develop traffic control plans and operational strategies for urban and rural environments.
• Utilize transportation modeling software (e.g., Vissim, TransCAD) for analysis and design.
• Manage project deliverables, timelines, and budgets, ensuring client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with urban planners, architects, and government agencies on transportation projects.
