Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Civil Engineer to design and develop intelligent transportation networks across South Africa from a fully remote setup. You’ll focus on safe, sustainable road, highway and public transit projects while collaborating with teams nationwide.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (Transportation) with 7+ years’ experience, strong modeling software (VISSIM, TransCAD) and CAD proficiency. Excellent remote communication and PM skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a transportation specialization.
• 7+ years of experience in transportation infrastructure design and analysis.
• Proficiency in transportation modeling software (VISSIM, TransCAD) and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop transportation infrastructure projects including road alignment and traffic flow analysis.
• Use traffic simulation and network analysis tools for capacity planning.
• Prepare designs, drawings, specs and cost estimates for transportation networks.
• Ensure compliance with national and provincial standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborate remotely with project managers, urban planners and external stakeholders.
• Research and propose innovative ITS technologies and methodologies.
