Placements24 in Centurion, Gauteng, is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Threat Hunter to proactively search for advanced threats across the organization's IT infrastructure. You will leverage threat intelligence and analytics to uncover hidden threats.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years in cybersecurity with threat hunting or IR, plus strong knowledge of attacker methodologies, TTPs, and kill chains. Proficiency with SIEM/EDR and scripting is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity with threat hunting, IR, or security operations.
• Proven experience conducting advanced threat hunts using various security tools and data sources.
• Deep understanding of attacker methodologies, TTPs, and kill chain analysis.
• Proficiency with SIEM platforms, EDR solutions, and network forensics tools.
• Automation scripting in Python/PowerShell is a plus.
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., GCTI, GCFA, OSCP) are highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute proactive threat hunting missions across IT infrastructure.
• Develop hypotheses from threat intelligence and TTPs.
• Utilize SIEM, EDR, network traffic analysis, and forensic tools to hunt threats.
• Analyze large datasets to identify anomalies and IOCs.
• Document findings with detailed analysis and recommendations.
• Collaborate with incident response and security operations teams to investigate threats.
• Stay current with threat actor TTPs and attack vectors.
• Develop and refine hunting playbooks and methodologies.
• Contribute to improving security monitoring and detection capabilities.
