Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a specialization in Thermal Sciences to lead design, development, and optimization of advanced thermal management solutions in Polokwane.

You will mentor engineers, define tests, validate models, and drive projects from concept to production using ANSYS Fluent and COMSOL. A master's or PhD and 8 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Thermal Sciences.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in the design and analysis of thermal systems.
• Extensive experience with thermal analysis software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL Multiphysics).
• Deep understanding of heat transfer principles, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Proven ability to lead complex engineering projects and solve challenging technical problems.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, critical for on-site collaboration in Polokwane.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and analysis of complex thermal systems, including heat exchangers, cooling systems, and thermal protection.
• Conduct in-depth thermodynamic and fluid dynamic analysis using advanced simulation tools.
• Develop and validate thermal models and prototypes through rigorous testing and experimentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure thermal requirements are met across product lines.
• Define technical requirements, specifications, and test plans for thermal system components.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in the area of thermal sciences.
