Placements24 is seeking a Senior Thermal Mechanical Engineer for its R&D team in Pretoria to design, analyze, and optimize thermal systems for high-performance applications. You will run CFD/FEA analyses, select materials, mentor juniors, and collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and product engineers.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with thermal specialization.
• 6+ years of experience in thermal design and analysis.
• Proficiency with ANSYS Icepak or FloTHERM.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
• Experience with materials relevant to thermal applications.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes for thermal components.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities in hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced thermal management systems (heat sinks, heat pipes, fans, liquid cooling).
• Perform detailed thermal analysis using CFD/FEA software.
• Conduct experimental validation of thermal designs and analyze results.
