Job summary

TSU Technical Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Technician to install, service and troubleshoot access control and alarm systems across our client base. You will maintain documentation, follow SOPs and ensure all tools and test gear are calibrated and compliant with ISO9000.

The role requires strong teamwork, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and a commitment to safety and high workmanship standards. PSIRA registration is expected.

Qualifications

• In-depth experience in installation, troubleshooting and repair of access control systems.
• Alarm system installation and repairs (Paradox, DSC, IDS, Texecom, Caddx, Ajax & other major brands).
• In-depth knowledge of alarm communicator devices and applications.
• CCTV (IP and analogue) installation, cabling, setup, programming, troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, troubleshoot, repair and maintain access control and alarm systems per SOPs.
• Adhere to technical standards and SOPs; maintain test gear and calibration per ISO9000.
• Provide remote support and be available for callouts.

An overview of your duties

• As a technician you are responsible for the installation, service, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of access control systems and alarm systems in accordance with the company’s standard operating procedures.
• Adhere to and maintain technical standards and standard operating procedures
• Provide remote support as and when required
• Be available for call out
• Service the Company’s product portfolio as directed in an effective and cost-efficient manner
• To ensure that at all times tools and equipment are regularly maintained in good and safe working order and that test gear is regularly calibrated and labelled as required by ISO9000
• Maintain all documentation and ensure that records are up to date.
• Communicate appropriately with the Director TSU Technical Services to discuss new projects, receive work and report progress in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with established procedures
• To be aware of all contract possibilities and add on business opportunities
• To observe and promote safe working practices and help maintain depots in a tidy and workmanlike manner

The experience you should have

• In-depth knowledge of alarm communicator devices and applications
• Electric fence installation and repairs
• CCTV (IP and analogue including cabling, installation, setup, programming, & troubleshooting), all major brands
• Experienced in working on networks
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software
• Strong team player
• Ability to work effectively without supervision
• Alarm, CCTV, Electric Fence, Access Control, Gate Motor knowledge
• Good technical skills and workmanship
• PSIRA registered
