About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Project Manager to lead critical infrastructure projects within their Randburg headquarters. This role is essential for managing the design, implementation, and upgrade of our IT infrastructure, ensuring robustness, security, and scalability. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, extensive experience in managing complex IT infrastructure projects, and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid model. You will be instrumental in driving strategic initiatives that support our business operations and future growth. This is a pivotal role for an experienced professional in the Gauteng region.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive project plans for IT infrastructure projects, including network upgrades, server deployments, and data center enhancements.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring successful and timely delivery.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional technical teams, vendors, and third-party contractors.
• Oversee the technical design and implementation phases, ensuring solutions meet performance, security, and reliability standards.
• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and dependencies related to infrastructure initiatives.
• Communicate project progress, status, and key decisions effectively to technical teams and senior management.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate effective collaboration between IT and business units.
• Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• PMP or ITIL certification is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in technical project management, with a strong focus on IT infrastructure projects (servers, networks, cloud integration).
• Demonstrated experience managing projects in a hybrid work environment, balancing remote and in-office collaboration.
• Solid understanding of network architectures, server technologies, virtualization, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and cybersecurity principles.
• Proven experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear project objectives and manage diverse technical teams.
• Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Randburg , Gauteng , and comfortable with hybrid work arrangements.
