Job summary

Fempower Personnel seeks an experienced Technical Manager to lead all technical insurance matters. You will provide strategic direction and guidance to the organization, members, and external stakeholders, influencing transformation and governance initiatives.

You will oversee underwriting, risk assessment, market trends, and facultative placements while managing SANP/SANPA operations and Lloyds liaison, and act as a media-facing expert to boost industry reputation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in the non-life insurance industry with recognised technical expertise.
• University Degree or Professional Qualification required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of major non-life insurance classes (Property, Liability, Marine, Engineering).
• Strong expertise in underwriting, risk assessment, market trends, and facultative placements.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction on all technical insurance matters, including Transformation and Governance.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the industry at senior FSCA, PA, NT, and DTIC meetings.
• Project Management: Lead critical industry projects and manage specialist forums (Property Technical Committee, Specialist Business Lines Forums).
• Specialist Lines & Nuclear Insurance: Oversee SANP/SANPA operations, underwriting, budgeting, renewal, and Lloyds liaison.
• Media & Communication: Act as the technical insurance expert for media, deliver presentations, enhance industry reputation.
• Team Mentorship: Mentor and coach senior staff for high performance and development.
