Qualifications

About the Role

This role operates on a fully remote basis, allowing you to contribute to impactful projects from anywhere in South Africa. You will be at the forefront of designing and implementing sustainable architectural solutions for community-focused developments, prioritizing ecological integrity, social equity, and economic viability. Your responsibilities will span conceptual design, master planning, and detailed design development, with a strong emphasis on passive design, renewable energy integration, water management, and the use of local, sustainable materials. The ideal candidate is a passionate advocate for sustainable urbanism and community engagement, possessing a deep understanding of green building certifications and a proven ability to lead collaborative design processes. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of sustainable architectural projects for community-based initiatives.


• Integrate principles of passive design, renewable energy, water conservation, and waste management into all projects.

• Research and select appropriate sustainable materials and construction technologies.

Requirements

• Proficiency in architectural design software (Revit, AutoCAD) and simulation tools for energy and environmental analysis.


• Strong understanding of community planning, social impact assessment, and participatory design processes.


• Excellent remote collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.


• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a remote work setting.


• A portfolio showcasing successful sustainable community projects is essential.


• Professional registration with SAIA or equivalent is preferred.
