Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Lead Supply Chain Engineer to spearhead optimization initiatives from our Richards Bay hub in KwaZulu-Natal. You will analyze, redesign, and implement highly efficient supply chain strategies, mentoring a team of engineers and analysts to drive continuous improvement and cost-efficiency across the network.

The role requires a Masters in a quantitative field, 8+ years in supply chain engineering or logistics, and hands-on experience with network design, inventory

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field.
• 8+ years in supply chain engineering, logistics, or operations management, with leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze end-to-end supply chain in Richards Bay, identifying inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Design and implement innovative supply chain solutions including network design, inventory management, and transportation optimization.
• Develop and manage complex supply chain models and simulations to evaluate strategic options.
• Lead cross-functional teams to deliver supply chain projects on time and within scope.
• Establish and monitor KPIs to track performance and drive corrective action.
• Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
• Implement and manage advanced planning systems to enhance visibility and control.
• Conduct feasibility studies and business case development for new initiatives.
• Develop and deliver training for supply chain personnel on best practices and new systems.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and best practices.
