Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Senior Supply Chain Analyst to optimize logistics and distribution. This remote role includes occasional travel to Paarl, Western Cape, and focuses on data-driven decision-making, forecasting, inventory management, and cost reduction across the supply chain.

You will collaborate with procurement, logistics, and operations to deliver measurable improvements and strategic insights. A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in SCM are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in SCM, logistics, IE, data science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in supply chain analysis, logistics, or operations.
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python or R, Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with data modeling and forecasting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Analyze supply chain data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and cost reduction opportunities.
• Develop and maintain models to forecast demand, optimize inventory, and manage network flows.
• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, operations, and sales to implement improvements.
• Evaluate transportation, warehousing, and inventory management solutions.
• Prepare regular reports and dashboards on performance and KPIs.

About the Role

Our client, a leading national retailer, is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Senior Supply Chain Analyst to optimize their logistics and distribution network. This crucial role, based remotely with occasional travel to Paarl, Western Cape , will focus on enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving service levels throughout the supply chain. You will be responsible for analyzing complex data, identifying trends, developing models, and recommending actionable insights to improve inventory management, transportation, and warehousing operations. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of supply chain principles, and experience with data visualization and optimization tools. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain analysis, logistics, or operations, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
• Proven experience in data analysis, modeling, and forecasting techniques.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, SQL, Python (or R), Tableau, or Power BI.
• Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including inventory management, warehousing, and transportation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with supply chain planning software is a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to the Paarl, Western Cape operational hub.
