About the Role

Our client, a prominent and forward-thinking company in the retail sector, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Senior Supply Chain Analyst. This is a critical, fully remote position focused on optimising the entire supply chain for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and resilience. You will be responsible for analysing complex data sets, identifying trends, developing strategic recommendations, and implementing solutions to enhance inventory management, logistics, and demand forecasting. The role requires a sophisticated understanding of supply chain dynamics and a passion for data-driven decision-making. As a remote employee, you will work independently from your home office, contributing to the strategic direction of supply chain operations that influence areas such as Mossel Bay, Western Cape , and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse end-to-end supply chain performance, identifying key drivers of cost, efficiency, and service levels. Develop and maintain advanced analytical models for demand forecasting, inventory optimisation, and network planning. Identify and quantify opportunities for supply chain improvements, including cost reduction initiatives and efficiency gains. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (procurement, operations, sales, finance) to gather data, validate findings, and implement strategic changes. Design and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the supply chain, providing regular reports and insights to senior management. Evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for strategic sourcing and vendor management. Lead projects related to supply chain transformation, technology implementation, and process re-engineering. Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and market trends in supply chain management. Develop and present clear, concise recommendations and business cases to stakeholders at all levels. Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the overall development of the supply chain analytics function.

Requirements

Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain analysis, planning, or operations. Demonstrated expertise in advanced analytics, statistical modelling, and forecasting techniques. Proficiency with supply chain planning software, ERP systems, and data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Strong command of SQL, Excel, and statistical programming languages (e.g., Python, R). Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Proven ability to work independently, manage complex projects, and deliver results in a remote setting. Experience with lean principles or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus. Strategic mindset with a deep understanding of global supply chain challenges.
