Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Substation Engineer to contribute to critical power distribution infrastructure in Centurion. You will design, implement, and maintain electrical substations, ensuring reliable energy delivery and grid stability for the region.
You will collaborate with a team on projects from new substation construction to upgrades, applying standards and high-voltage expertise. A strong background in protection schemes and CAD is essential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems focus.
- Minimum 5 years in substation design, operations, or maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of high-voltage equipment and protection schemes.
- Proficient CAD drawing and layout design for electrical systems.
- Familiar with South African standards and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Design, specify, and oversee substation construction and commissioning.
- Develop and maintain single-line diagrams and schematics.
- Analyze power system performance and protection coordination.
- Manage substation maintenance programs and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Provide technical guidance to field crews.
