Placements24 is seeking a highly qualified Structural Mechanical Engineer to join our Paarl team. The role focuses on the structural integrity and mechanical performance of complex systems, conducting analyses, and ensuring safety standards are met.

The successful candidate will bring a Master's in Mechanical Engineering with structural analysis expertise, 7+ years of experience, and strong knowledge of FEA tools (ANSYS/Abaqus).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on structural analysis.
• 7+ years of experience in structural analysis and mechanical design.
• Proficiency in FEA software (ANSYS, Abaqus).
• Strong knowledge of materials science, mechanics of solids, and structural dynamics.
• Experience with industry codes and standards (AISC, ASME).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analysis and stress calculations for components and systems.
• Design and specify materials for frames, supports, and enclosures to ensure load-bearing capacity.
• Conduct failure analysis and investigate root causes of structural issues.
• Develop technical specifications and drawings for structural elements.
• Collaborate with mechanical designers to integrate structural requirements into system design.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
