Placements24, Randburg-based engineering consultancy, seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the structural design for residential developments across Gauteng. You will oversee concept to completion, ensure safety and conformance with building codes, and coordinate with architects, contractors and other engineers.

The ideal candidate holds a BEng/BSc Eng in Civil/Structural Engineering, is ECSA-registered (Pr Eng), with 7+ years in residential structures, and expert knowledge of ETABS,

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc Eng in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• ECSA registration as Professional Engineer (Pr Eng).
• 7+ years of experience in residential structural engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis for multi-story residential buildings.
• Produce detailed structural drawings, calculations and specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS codes and NBR.
• Review shop drawings and submittals from contractors.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent engineering consultancy in Randburg , is seeking a highly qualified Senior Structural Engineer to lead the structural design for a range of residential development projects across Gauteng . You will be responsible for the integrity and safety of multi-story apartment buildings, townhouses, and potentially housing estates. This role involves complex structural analysis, detailed design, and overseeing junior engineers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with various building materials and a proven ability to manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring designs meet all relevant building codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis for multi-story residential buildings.
• Produce detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS codes, National Building Regulations, and project requirements.
• Review shop drawings and construction submittals from contractors.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior structural engineers.
• Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with design specifications.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc Eng in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng).
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering, specifically with residential buildings.
