Placements24 is representing a prominent engineering consultancy in Sandton seeking a Civil Engineer specializing in structural design and analysis. You will work on commercial, residential, and industrial projects, delivering robust structural solutions with attention to quality and timelines.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, ECSA Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng registration, and at least 7 years of post-graduate experience with steel and concrete design, plus proficiency in SAP2000,

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng or Pr. Tech Eng) is essential.
• Minimum 7 years post-graduate experience in structural engineering design.
• Proven experience designing steel and concrete structures for buildings.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software and codes of practice.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for diverse construction projects.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with SANS, building regs and codes.
• Collaborate with architects and other disciplines.
• Conduct site visits and provide technical support.
• Review designs submitted by contractors and consultants.
• Assess structural integrity of existing buildings and propose remedial work.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables for structural components.
• Contribute to tender prep and client liaison.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians in design practices.
