Placements24 client in Port Elizabeth seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis of diverse building projects, ensuring safety, stability, and compliance with SANS and codes.

The role requires a Master's in Structural/Civil Engineering, 7+ years' experience, and Pr.Eng. with ECSA. You will collaborate with architects, MEP, and contractors, prepare drawings, and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative office setting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural specialization.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in structural engineering design for buildings.
• Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA is required.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (SAP2000, ETABS, Prokon).

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of new building projects and renovations, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculation reports for architectural and construction teams.
• Conduct site inspections during construction to monitor progress and address structural issues.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical/electrical engineers, and contractors for seamless project integration.
• Perform complex structural calculations using advanced software for steel, concrete, and masonry.
• Review shop drawings and respond to contractor queries during construction.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers in the structural department.
