Job summary

Henry Fagan Consulting Engineers & Project Managers is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead structural projects and drive delivery of complex building and infrastructure schemes. You will oversee budgets, resources, and quality control, while liaising with clients and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil/Structural engineering degree, 10–15 years of experience, and ECSA registration.

Qualifications

• BSc / BEng / B-Tech Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• 10–15 years post-first qualification experience in the built environment, with at least 5 years in a client-facing Project Management or Technical Lead role.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng.) and as a Professional Engineer or Technologist.
• Proven track record as Project/Technical Lead on multi-disciplinary building and infrastructure projects.
• Experience in contract administration and management of multi-disciplinary building and infrastructure projects.

The Role: Senior Structural Engineer

Job Profile:

Project Management

• Lead and manage structural engineering projects.
• Oversee projects in all respects, including budgeting, resource allocation, procedures, profitability, quality, and standards.
• Develop and communicate project goals and deliverables; assess and evaluate project team performance to ensure successful completion.
• Preparation of project plans, conducting project health checks, and implementing recovery plans where necessary.
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.

Client and Stakeholder Liaison

• Undertake client liaison and communication with all stakeholders on individual projects.
• Conduct and attend meetings with clients, professional teams, and contractors.
• Support the Business Development team and relevant executives in identifying tendering opportunities, preparing RFPs, and contributing to full tender submissions.

Technical Coordination and Quality

• Ensure technical coordination within the business and with external team members and stakeholders.
• Oversee project production efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
• Evaluate customer or public complaints, determine the nature and extent of the problem, and recommend remedial measures.
• Ensure all project processes comply with the company’s QMS and ISO 9001 standards.
• Generate project reports as required by the business.

Qualification & Experience

• BSc / BEng / B-Tech Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 10–15 years post-first qualification experience in the built environment, with at least 5 years in a client-facing Project Management or Technical Lead role.
• Professionally registered with ECSA (Pr. Eng.)
• Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Technologist.
• Proven track record as a Project/Technical Lead on multi-disciplinary building and infrastructure projects.
• Project management experience across medium to high-rise office, residential, educational, healthcare, commercial, and industrial buildings, and water-retaining structures.
• Experience in contract administration and management of multi-disciplinary building and infrastructure projects.
