Placements24 is seeking a Senior Structural Technician for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will translate complex designs into detailed drawings, support engineers, and prepare schedules for building components from home.

Strong CAD skills and independent work are essential for collaboration with a virtual team. Ideal candidates have 6+ years in structural drafting, knowledge of SANS, and experience with concrete, steel, and masonry, contributing to projects across the Eastern Cape

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in civil engineering with structural focus.
• Minimum six years as a structural technician on building projects.
• Advanced AutoCAD and Revit skills with 3D modeling experience.
• Solid understanding of structural concepts, materials, and codes.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed structural drawings, plans, sections, and details using CAD software.
• Assist engineers in developing design models and calculations.
• Prepare structural specifications and schedules for components.
• Coordinate drawings with architectural and MEP plans.
• Ensure drawings meet drafting standards and codes.
• Incorporate design changes from engineers accurately and quickly.
• Assist in tender documents and construction administration remotely.
• Maintain organized drawing files and project documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with engineers in a virtual setting.
• Stay updated on CAD technology and drafting practices.
