Qualifications

• A National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Structural Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Structural Designer/Draughtsperson in construction.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit Structure and other design software.
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and building construction methods.
• Ability to interpret structural design calculations and specifications accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drawings.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in client-facing or project coordination roles is beneficial.
• Knowledge of South African building regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed structural drawings (plans, sections, elevations, connections) using CAD and BIM.
• Develop 3D models of structural components and systems.
• Coordinate drawings with architectural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to avoid clashes.
• Ensure drawings comply with building codes, standards and project specs.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities and material take-offs.
