Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Structural Draughtsperson to translate engineer designs into precise drawings and 3D models. You will work with structural engineers to support design and documentation across diverse construction projects in the Paarl region, ensuring compliance with SANS and codes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of drafting experience, advanced AutoCAD and RevIt Structure skills, and a detail-oriented, collaborative approach to team work in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Structural Draughtsperson.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit Structure.
• Knowledge of SANS and relevant building codes.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed structural drawings, plans, sections, and elevations based on engineers' designs and calculations.
• Develop and maintain 3D models for structural components as required.
• Ensure drawings comply with applicable building codes, standards, and company procedures.
• Coordinate with structural engineers to clarify design intent and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare drawing lists, schedules, and other documentation for project submissions.
• Review and incorporate revisions and mark-ups from engineers and project managers.
• Check and verify drawings produced by junior draughtspersons or external parties.
• Maintain organized drawing archives and ensure document control.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to coordinate structural elements.
• Assist in site visits for information gathering or verification purposes.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Knowledge of South African National Standards (SANS) and relevant building codes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawing production.
• Good understanding of construction materials and methods.
