Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer with a focus on structural design for our George office. You will design and oversee structural components for buildings and infrastructure, ensuring safety, efficiency and compliance with SANS codes.

The role requires 5+ years in structural design and experience with SAP2000, ETABS or Prokon, plus site supervision capabilities. We offer a stable firm with growth opportunities in the Western Cape.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design and analysis.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, Prokon).
• Knowledge of building codes and standards (SANS).
• Experience in site supervision and problem-solving during construction phases.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural systems for buildings, bridges, and other civil structures.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using industry-standard software.
• Conduct structural assessments and site inspections to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and approve shop drawings and submittals.
• Stay abreast of advancements in structural engineering materials and techniques.
