Quest Staffing Solutions is seeking a Senior Specialist: Privacy & Data Protection to help manage privacy risks and ensure compliant handling of personal information. The role focuses on privacy assessments, risk assessments, data-flow mapping and maintaining privacy records.

The candidate will work with business and technology teams to implement privacy controls, deliver reports, and guide stakeholders on POPIA requirements. 6-month contract in Gauteng, South Africa.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' relevant experience in privacy, risk or compliance.
• Experience conducting PIAs/OPIAs.
• Experience with business process mapping.
• Experience with data-flow mapping.
• Knowledge of POPIA and data protection principles.
• Experience working with business and technology stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments for new and existing processes, products, systems and services.
• Conduct Privacy by Design assessments for new projects and changes.
• Identify and assess privacy risks and recommend mitigations.
• Maintain the Personal Data Processing Register (PDPR).
• Map how personal information moves through processes and systems.
• Create and maintain data-flow diagrams.
• Reassess high- and medium-risk processing activities.
• Review privacy assessments for quality and compliance.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to resolve issues.
• Provide guidance on POPIA and data privacy requirements.
• Prepare reports on privacy risks, assessments and compliance.

SENIOR SPECIALIST: PRIVACY & DATA PROTECTION

Level: Senior Specialist

Duration: 6 months

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Senior Specialist will help the organization manage data privacy and protection risks and ensure that personal information is handled in line with privacy laws and company requirements.

The role focuses on privacy assessments, risk assessments, process mapping, data-flow mapping and maintaining privacy records.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (OPIA) for new and existing processes, products, systems and services.
• Conduct Privacy by Design assessments for new projects and changes to existing systems or processes.
• Identify and assess privacy risks and recommend ways to reduce or manage these risks.
• Maintain the Personal Data Processing Register (PDPR).
• Identify processes, systems, applications and products that involve personal information.
• Map how personal information moves through different business processes and systems.
• Create and maintain data-flow diagrams.
• Conduct reassessments of high- and medium-risk processing activities.
• Review privacy assessments to ensure they meet the required quality standards.
• Work with business and technology teams to resolve privacy risks and compliance issues.
• Provide guidance to stakeholders on POPIA, data privacy and protection requirements.
• Keep privacy records and documentation accurate and up to date.
• Prepare reports and provide updates on privacy risks, assessments and compliance.
