Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale solar energy initiatives across Limpopo, based in Polokwane. You will drive end-to-end delivery, from feasibility through commissioning, coordinating EPCs, contractors, and authorities while ensuring time, budget, and quality targets are met.

The role demands strong leadership, strategic planning, and a proven track record in renewable energy or large infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or related field.
• Master's degree or PMP certification is a strong advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years focused on renewable energy or large infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record of delivering complex solar PV projects from development to operation.
• Strong understanding of solar technology, project finance, contract negotiation, and EPC management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end management of solar energy projects, from feasibility studies to final handover.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation.
• Manage relationships with EPC contractors, suppliers, local authorities, and grid operators.
• Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and permitting requirements.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing contingency plans.
• Conduct regular project reviews and provide detailed progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
