Placements24 is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee solar power projects in Kimberley, Northern Cape. This on-site role requires hands-on leadership to manage feasibility, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning, ensuring quality and safety across the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 6+ years in project engineering (3+ in solar PV), and strong knowledge of solar technologies, design, and grid interconnection, plus excellent

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of project engineering experience, with at least 3 years in solar PV.
• Proven track record delivering energy infrastructure projects from inception to handover.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV technologies, design, installation, and grid interconnection.
• Excellent project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specs.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
• On-site work capability with diverse teams.
• Experience with South African construction regulations and safety standards.

Aufgaben

• Manage all phases of solar projects from feasibility to commissioning.
• Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to high quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate with EPC teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure smooth execution.
• Review and approve project designs, specs, and documentation.
• Oversee site activities, monitor progress, and conduct inspections.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and regulators.
• Identify and mitigate risks, ensure regulatory compliance and permits.
• Prepare status reports, financial updates, and performance analyses for management.
• Facilitate handover and ensure client satisfaction on completion.
