Job summary

A leading recruitment firm in South Africa is seeking a Site Supervisor for a utility-scale solar project. The role involves supervising contractor activities, ensuring compliance with specifications, and coordinating with various teams on site. Candidates should have over 5 years of experience in large construction projects, especially in renewables, alongside strong skills in mechanical construction and contractor coordination. This is a site-based position for the full construction duration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a Site Supervisor on large construction projects (renewables experience advantageous).
• Strong understanding of mechanical construction, contractor coordination, and utility-scale solar project execution.
• Familiarity with inspection and test plans, quality control processes, RFIs, and construction documentation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day contractor activities across mechanical balance-of-plant and related construction scopes.
• Monitor construction progress against schedules, identify potential clashes, and interrogate contractor mitigation plans.
• Enforce compliance with approved specifications, ITPs/QCPs, standards, HSE requirements, and quality procedures.
