Placements24 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to join our Stellenbosch engineering team. You will design, implement, and maintain scalable server-side applications and APIs powering core business functions.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to architecture decisions, and help ensure high performance and reliability of systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of backend software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or C# for backend development.
• Experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with microservices and RESTful API design.
